After the Keble College starter, we have the main! It’s duck with potatoes and buttered vegetables, crunchy vegetables! This is very important!!

Delicious…

Keble College starter… January 27, 2010

This time we move from Dartmouth to Keble College, Oxford!! This is one of the lovely starters we get for Black Tie dinners. It’s roasted goat’s cheese on a bed of leaves! Huge fan of cheese there was no way to leave this unnoticed!!

And a main… January 26, 2010

Probably the best roast lamb I have ever had!! This was three years ago when the family spent Easter at Dartmouth!! On Easter Sunday we went to the restaurant called “The new angel”. Small, cosy place… The kitchen was next to the tables! As far as I can remember they had Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom!

Although I am not a big fan of  lamb I decided to order it because it is a tradition in Greece and Cyprus to have lamb on Easter Sunday! So even away from home and tradition, I took the risk and did not regret!

Earl grey or what?

This is not food but I think it falls in the category!! It’s tea, earl grey to be more precise. I am a huge fan of coffee, with milk always that is. I ordered earl grey though because I was fasting (it was before Christmas), still in Cyprus!! I was really amazed by the cup and how the tea bag was placed inside it while the water was steaming hot below in a transparent tea-pot.

This is how I start. I took this picture when I was still at home, in Cyprus. It is a dessert. It’s a whole walnut warmed up and dipped into syrup… Just brilliant!!

Post Number 1!!

So how did it all start? Well, we were having dinner in Keble College Hall and once the first course was served I took a picture of it straight away!! We all take pictures of things we want to remember right? So two of my friends suggested I should start a blog and publish these food (and drink) pictures and write the stories about them. I was instantly convinced because the night before I was watching the film “Julie & Julia”, where Julie Powell (Amy Adams) started her own blog!!

So here I am and I hope it works!!

Many thanks to Lucy and Bibi. If it wasn’t for them this would have never crossed my mind!
